Yes: In general, nutritional health is important in controlling gum disease. Vit c and other antioxidants contribute to your overall health and thus are part of periodontal care. Deficiencies symptoms of vitamin c--also known as scurvy--include bleeding and spongy gums along with general weakness, anemia and skin irritations. Our office provides a test to measure intracellular antioxidant levels.
