Unclear: Rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that may help protect cells from damage. It contains b complex vitamins, beta-carotene, vitamin e, manganese, zinc, copper, iron, selenium, and gamma linolenic acid. Can be contaminated with toxic substances called microcystins and absorb heavy metals from water source. Yet, no studies definitively proving health benefits so best to avoid.
