A member asked:

I have pain in both knees..my doctor wants to do arthroscopic surgery.what is risk if history of d.v.t..?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Low: The risk of DVT with a knee arthroscopy has been reported as high as 9.9%, proximal DVT rate = 2.1%. With a history of DVT your risk would be higher. The procedure can be done without a tourniquet and you could be placed on anticoagulants after surgery, making the risk fairly low.
