Cause and effect: Pressure based tissue injuries develop from unrelieved pressure...Period. No pressure, no injury. Things that can increase the potential include malnutrition, immobility, fecal and urinary incontinence, previous bedsores (in the same area), mental confusion, poor blood supply to and from the area, neuropathy, and other things that affect the body's ability to heal.
