how long does it take for a pressure ulcer to develop?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Eric O'Neill
34 years experience Plastic Surgery
Depends: Formation of a pressure ulcer can occur in as little as two hours. There are multiple other factors which can contribute to their development, such as moisture, shear, heating pads, infection, and nutritional debilitation. A wound specialist can examine the wound and give you more answers.
