Yes: Estradiol and dhea are both hormones and both are needed. Levels hold be followed by a doctor to be sure you are not taking too much of either.

Yes: DHEA is a precursor of estrogens including estradiol. Taking DHEA simply provides the body with more substrate for which it can use to make estrogens. The endocrine metabolic activity which produces estrogens from DHEA isn't affected by too much substrate, only too little.
