Do docs treat themselves, writing prescriptions for themselves if they know what it is?

No: It's illegal to write yourself a prescription - by state and federal law. As a doctor, you have to get another physician with a dea license to write you a prescription. Many they know what it is and what medication they need so it's pretty easy to discuss with a colleague or personal physician.
