Take one: There are many brands of prenatal vitamins each with a slightly different compilation of vitamins. The best one to take is the one that you like. Folate (folic acid) in prenatal vitamins has been shows to prevent certain birth defects especially if taken before pregnancy. Find one you like and take it daily.

Look at ingredients: Avoid artificial colors, all will have 800 to 1, 000 mg of Folic Acid but the ones that have methyl folate (folic acid) help persons who metabolize folate (folic acid) differently. Also methyl cobalamine is the best b-12. Dha 200 mg a day is good for brain development. Vit d levels vary and the need for vit d varies . People experiencing more stress breakdown vit d. Taking additional vit d may be necessary.
