Testing: Urine/blood tests are the only reliable way to tell.

A dangerous one: It's a 17-alpha-alkylated steroid if you are a chemist. An orally active anabolic steroid, it has been banned in the us since 1990. It's promotes muscle growth, but also suppress/eliminate normal sperm production. Longterm it will cause feminizing effects like breast growth unless taken with an aromatase inhibitor drug (also a bad idea.) cases of liver failure have been reported.
