How can you determine the chances of your baby developing fetal abnormalities?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Discuss with genetic: Every pregnancy has ~4% risk of an unexpected outcome (cleft, premi, sick, etc) & some parents bring more risk to any conception. An evaluation of the family tree on both sides with a geneticist can reveal any specific risk you have.(cleft, heart, etc)some risks (open spine)decrease with pre-conceptual use of Folic Acid supplements while others are not.Geneticists usually affiliated with med schools.
