You have genu varum: The medical term for bowlegedness is genu varum. This condition can be problematic because it overloads the medial or inside part of your knee joint. This can lead to knee arthritis. In kids who are still growing and have open growth plates, guided growth can be used to straighten the limbs. In adults a surgical procedure called a high tibial osteotomy can be done to correct your alignment.

Depends: Mostly surgical options for a structural problem. Younger people and children can have osteotomies with gradual correction with external fixation. Middle age folks with no arthritis can consider a high tibial osteotomy with plate fixation. Older folks or folks with arthritis can be corrected with a total knee. If you are assymptomatic you could also live with it then if you get pain consider tka.
