Will the doc shave off a girl's head when a craniotomy is performed?

Probably not: Most neurosurgeons today do hair-sparing neurosurgery. This allows you to simply shave a small thin strip of scalp for the incision. The infection rate is the same for hair-sparing and shaving the head. Ask your neurosurgeon to spare your hair- i'll bet he will!
