Different Cartegorie: In general allergy medications are in several broad categories. Antihistamines ( like allegra, claritin, zyrtec that are taken by mouth and Astelin / patanase which are nasal inhaled antihistamines); steroids which can be oral (prednisone), inhaled for the nose or lungs and topically applied for the eyes and skin.
