A member asked:

Is it possible for my iud to still be preventing my pregnancy 12 years after insertion?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

IUD: That depends upon what kind of iud you have. If you have a copper containing iud, there is some evidence that it does work after 10 years. If you have a progestin containing iud, it probably isn't working.
