Medication: First, you must be certain you have a yeast infection. If it is indeed yeast infection, a short course vaginal administration of appropriate yeast medication may be used.

Call your doctor: A vaginal yeast infection is not likely to be a problem for a vaginal hysterectomy, but it would be easy to treat with an oral medication so that you do not have to be uncomfortable. Call your doctor for a prescription.
