What can happen if you abuse pain pills too often?

Death: The answer depends on the type of pain pill. Over the counter pills such as Ibuprofen (motrin), naprosyn (naproxen) and Acetaminophen (tylenol) and cause kidney and liver failure if taken in excess quantities. Prescription pain medicine can cause respiratory depression. All of these can cause death. Taking any pain medicine in higher than prescribed or recommended doses is very very dangerous.
