Yes: You are not alone; i believe several of the larger carriers have fairly successful programs. Do talk with your pcp as there is such a range of symptoms so mild sedation to psychiatric evaluation depending on the severity and possible ''tip of the iceberg.''.

Not uncommon: If the fear is debilitating and you will need to fly in the future - then do something about it. You have many possible options. Consider Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavior Therapy, Psychotherapy, Exposure therapy (imaginal exposure therapy, systematic desensitization, flooding, prolonged exposure therapy, in vivo exposure therapy) or hypnosis as possible options. Psychotropic meds too.
