Bed bug bites: The bites themselves are not self-perpetuating and they do not spread, but they are sometimes extremely itchy. Antihistamines can be used for the itch, as well as topical creams like cortisone 10. If a person is very sensitive and the reactions are unusually severe, oral steroids could be used, but these are not often needed. http://www.medicinenet.com/bed_bugs/article.htm.

Bed bug bites: wash with soap and water, apply OTC anti itch cream, you might need an antihistaminic as well to help the itch, but might make you drowsy, so take it only if local treatment doesn't work, and try not to drive or operate machinery if drowsy
