A member asked:

Have u heard of stylohyoid syndrome?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes!: This is more commonly known as eagle syndrome. The styloid process is a bone that goes down from the skull. It may be elongated or attached muscle ligaments may be calcified. This may cause throat, neck, or ear pain. Diagnosis is by ct scan and treatment is surgery. See an ENT doc if you believe you have this uncommon cause of head and neck pain.
