Constipation: It takes about seven hours or more to digest the meal so there is always some stool passing through the colon. Most people will have bowel movements of less than 1 pound. If one is extremely constipated you may put on a little weight but it won't be very much and most scales are not accurate enough to notice it.

Small amount: Weight fluctuates every day. If one is constipated & carrying extra stool - that could lead to a small increase in weight. However, eliminating that stool via a bowel movement should cause weight to decrease by a like amount.
