Several possiblities: Without a more precised description of location it's impossible to say, but it could be rib dysf., muscle cramps, pleurisy, kidney disease, quadratus lumborum spasm, etc. Etc.A proper history & physical exam, including an osteopathic hands-on exam might be able to determine the exact cause.
