No: No you do not. You can seek medical care as you see fit and as recommended by your doctor. However, if you're a minor, you might not want to use your parent's insurance for the testing because they may get a hint at it when they receive their insurance statement or doctor bill. So, use cash for it.

Depends: Many states carve out testing & treatment for STD's as a special category. Many city clinics do this for free & do not require parental input. If you use your regular doc & parents insurance they would find out on the back end when the insurance paperwork goes through.The reason for the visit may not be listed but the date of the encounter would be.
