CRPS: This is a pain disorder that is thought to come from an overactive sympathetic nervous system. This results in high levels of pain and allodynia (pain from a non painful stimulus). There also changes in the skin temperature and texture. There can be swelling and sweaty/clammy skin in the area of the pain. There is certain criteria to meet the diagnosis. High levels of pain are not enough.
