A member asked:

My blood sugar is always btn 6.0 - 6.7 when i wake up in the morning and at 5.4 , 3 hrs after a meal. could i be diabetic?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not likely.: Fasting blood glucose is 75-115 mg/dl or 4.2-6.4 mmol/l. Diabetic levels are >7.0 mmol/l on more than one occasion, and 2 hour post-prandial or after eating they are higher, like 11.1 mmol/l or higher. Requirements and guidelines are more stringent these days for this, but it is highly unlikely you have diabetes at this time. You might even have low sugar so see your doctor if still concerned.
