Different: Muscular dystrophy is usually an inherited form of muscle dysfunction with profound loss of the ability of the muscle to function over time. Treatment current for dystrophy is not satisfactory. Myopathy is any toxic or allergic loss of muscle function and usually responds to treatment. These are usually handled by neurologists but there are specialists in muscles only.
