Are the drugs tenuate and adipex similar?

They are similar: Adipex is the brand name for Phentermine and tenuate is the brand for diethylpropion. They are both sympathomimetic appetite suppressants and work in similar ways. Some people do better on one or the other, so it is good to have a choice. Your doctor can help you decide which is best for you.

There are reasons why these are "C-IV Controlled Substances. You and your physician should be making educated decisions on what type of medications you should use, If you cannot have this type of discussion with your doctor--FIND ANOTHER ONE!! It is ASBP's official position that appetite pills be only one part of a multi-phased approach to Obesity treatment.

Yes and No: Both appetite control medications. Both controlled prescription drugs. Both should only be used under the close supervision of a qualified physician specialist in obesity treatment.
