Go to hospital: This sounds like an infection which may be caused by staphylococcus or streptococcus bacteria, but it also could be caused by other types of bacteria. Infections that may be minor in adults or older children can be very serious, even life-threatening in infants. Facial infections are of particular concern. You should take your child to an emergency department immediately.
