Yes: Esophageal cancer can be of two types, squamous or adenocarcinoma and be found anywhere along the length of the esophagus. Main contributors are longterm reflux disease, the age and gender (men are 3 times more likely to develop it), and tobacco and alcohol use. Oral cancers are most commonly associated with tobacco usage. The two cancers are independent of each other.
