A member asked:

Is it possible to have a nerve in stomach that causes heart symptoms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: The vagus nerve is a large nerve on both sides of your body. It begins in the brainstem and travels through your neck into your chest and then into the abdominal region. It provides the nerve supply to both your heart and your GI system through its multiple branches. If it is stimulated in your GI system it is possible to cause various changes in heart rate. Can even cause people to pass out.
