To prevent pregnancy: It is ok to have unprotected sex during the placebo week - as far as pregnancy prevention is concerned. Clearly, unprotected sex does nothing to prevent infections ANS may not be advisable in relationships other than mutually monogamous. Expect 8% per year pregnancy rate with even proper use of oral contraceptives.
