A member asked:

How dangerous is it that a surgical sponge was accidently left in my vagina during a cervix biopsy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: It's obviously out now, since you know about it. The danger is similar to a retained tampon - infection. If you are well and have no abnormal discharge or fever, then likely no effect at all. Good luck.
