It wasn't: Arising in april as an off season flu , it allowed the swine flu to dominate the news starved media for months. The case fatality rate was actually less than regular seasonal flu, but we heard about every case on the evening news.It was particularly harsh on pregnant women , some infants & the frail; but that is common to the seasonal flu also.
