See Your Doctor: Sorting thru the cause of abdominal pain is like solving a mystery: we compile many "clues" (symptoms, examination findings, lab results, radiologic tests) to narrow down the possibilities. This requires face-to-face evaluation. That said, problems of the gallbladder, pancreas, liver, stomach, colon may all cause upper abdominal pain radiating into the back. Good luck!
