I am not sure.: I have not seen any studies confirming this. The active ingredient in most professional whitening systems is carbamide peroxide. Whitening tooth paste systems work by adding more abrasives to remove more surface stains. I've seen strawberry/baking soda concoctions used as a paste along with hydrogen peroxide rinse. I caution this method due to the presence of fruit acids which may cause harm.
