This can be life-saving following trauma but can be life-threatening if the clotting mechanism is activated inside a blood vessel, leading to the obstruction of flow to the brain (stroke), heart muscles (mi), or lungs (pulmonary emboli), to name a few. Rx hinges on opening the blockage asap+/-blood thinners.
