Need to be examie : Many possible etiologies.Need at least ankle x-ray to rule out a possible etiology called OCD lesion of the talus.(ostochondral lesion of the ankle bone, talus)you need to be examine by physician.

What part: Of the ankle? The top? The inside or outside of the ankle? Sometimes, you dont need a history of trama you can have pain from simple wear and tear over time. Your foot type might be influencing the problem. An x-ray or MRI may be helpful if clinical exam fails to yield results.
