No: Neither of these compounds except in very high dosages are notable for blood thinning capabilities. Better not to take supplements of either but to get it from natural sources such as flax and wild fish like salmon.

Comparable effects: Both fish oil and flax oil contain omega 3 fatty acids which are known to significantly thin the blood. With both the effects are dose-related; higher amounts thin the blood more. I do not know of any studies comparing their effects on thinning blood but would expect they would be fairly comparable. See www.Parade.Com/health/askdrrosenfeld/nutrition/fish-oil.Html.
