Symptomatic?: Palpate it to determine if it is soft, semisolid or hard. Does it move on pressure testing? Does it hurt when you apply pressure to it? Does it interfere your normal activity? Must rule out soft tissue masses such as ganglion cyst, lipoma, fibroma vs bone spurs or joint mice. X-rays provide a good start in determining the etiology.
