Fever and pain: Septic arthritis is a big deal. It presents with fever, joint pain swelling and redness and lots of pain upon joint motion. Treatment revolves around drainage and continued drainage of the pus in the joint and appropriate antimicrobial therapy. Serious damage to the joint can occur with mismanagement.
