Can a bad infection give you ptsd?

Not Likely: It is not likely that an infection would lead to ptsd. One exception that i can think of would be that if you had a medical problem that was so bad that the whole epiosde became very traumatic, then you might have flashbacks and nightmares related to the episode. For example, I have seen this occur with cancer survivors who have been through extensive and traumatic treatment.

No & Yes: A life threatening ailment with fear of death or traumatic treatment experiences could lead to development of post traumatic stress disorder. An infection does not cause ptsd.
