A member asked:

How come glucose give a positive result for fehlings test?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Monosaccharide: Glucose contains an aldehyde (c h o) which in the presence of fehling's solution, is oxidized, while the copper solution is reduced to cuprous sulfate - a dark red precipitant.
