It has its place: Only after a very good therapeutic relationship, there have been extremely rare occasions when an amphetamine has been carefully applied with a helpful result. My use has been about once/decade. Now, my practice is from well functioning individual.

Dexedrine.: Dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine) is sometimes used to augment antidepressants in the treatment of resistant depression. I have used medications like Ritalin in end- of life depression. Dexedrine was approved by the FDA in 1976. Many far superior antidepression options have been developed since then.
