Abnormal EKG : The qt interval is the interval from the beginning of the q-wave and the end of the t wave in the ekg . It represents the total electro-mechanical duration during one cardiac cycle . It is dependent on heart rate and therefore has to be corrected by a formula. It is generally longer in females than in males . A normal corrected qt is less than 500 msec.

Risk of arrhythmia: Qt interval is measured by ekg and starts at the beginning of the q wave and the end of the t wave . It represents the total electro-mechanical duration of one cardiac cycle and is dependent on heart rate . It is slightly longer in females ? Any corrected qt over 500 msec puts that person at risk of serious arrhythmia including death.

Prolonged QTc: The QT interval represents the time it takes for the electricity to pass through the bottom 2 heart chambers. Normally, the QT shortens with faster heart rate; therefore, a corrected QT (QTc) is calculated, more accurately representing the expected QT. Normal QTc is
