Mucositis: Chemotherapy is designed to affect rapidly growing cancer cells. Unfortunately the lining of the digestive tract grows very quickly too. Depending on the type of chemo, people can get sores in their mouth and diarrhea. Your doctor can prescribe medications which can help prevent or treat these problems should they occur so please ask.
