How close are doctors to finding a cure for spinal cord injury?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Slow, small advances: The spinal cord is very complex, with millions of tiny nerve cells packed into a small area. Spinal cord injury disrupts these nerve cells, and they don't grow back together well at all. Many researchers are working on this problem, and slow progress is being made. We are still many years away from being able to completely cure this problem.
