Multiple causes: Bladder infection (uti), constipation. Sometimes hereditary overactive bladder. Extreme physical stress in some athletes esp if high impact sports such as track, gymnastics & basketball. Pelvic muscle dysfunction, can be weak or dysfunctional hypertonic (spastic) muscles leading to loss of bladder control.
