If you tore during child birth, why dis it happen?

Episiotomy: The area between the vagina and rectum is called the perineum and gets stretched very thin as a baby crowns. Often the baby's head is big and that little area will need to be cut (epsiotomy) or it will tear to allow enough room for the baby to come out.

Be realistic: If you try to push something as big as an oversized grapefruit through something the size of a coke bottle something is likely to tear. The tissues can stretch some, but when baby decides to come, it may push out faster than it takes to allow stretching.
