A member asked:

How many people die each year on the waiting list for organ donation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Over 7,000 each yr.: Over 7, 000 of the more than 100, 000 patients on the list die waiting each year. One of our patients died this weekend while awaiting a combined liver and kidney transplant. Very sad. Detailed data on organ transplantion can be gleaned from the national transplant registry at ustransplant.Org and quick facts about transplantion found at unos.Org.
