6 weeks: After cesarean section, most recommend a postpartum healing time of 6 week's. This is in order to allow the uterus to heal and reduce risk of infection. Additionally, no direct abdominal pressure should be placed on the abdominal area for the first 6 weeks. Some women feel comfortable triing sex at 4 weeks post delivery. In this case, use a condom for bc as well as to reduce infection.
