When do i need to seek medical help for mattery eyes?

Vision, symptoms: If you have mattery eyes, it can be due to tear deficiency, blepharitis (which is like eyelid dandruff) or something more serious. Seek an ophthalmologist if the vision is affected, the eyes hurt, there is pus, lashes are falling out , there is chronic redness, or the condition persists.

Infection, allergy: Having discharge around the eyes (often on awakening) can be from infection (conjunctivitis or pink eye) or blepharitis (eyelid infection). Ocular allergy can also cause this. If the condition is not spontaneously resolving, or if it is associated with pain or vision loss, seek medical attention.
